12 months ago I started on a journey. A journey to get fitter & healthier, not only for the sake of my family, but because I needed to do something for myself. I won’t lie, whilst dropping the kg’s wasn’t on the top of the list, it was definitely on the list. Like a lot of people on this journey, I started off all gung-ho with the best plans in mind, and like a lot of people I faltered along the way. I am proud to say though, that the majority of plans I started out with, is still in place today. 2 months ago, I got the opportunity…

Another Step in My #FreshStart Journey
Life’s a funny thing. As a child you don’t really think about the things happening around you. All you’re concerned about are the things you find interesting. To be fair though, as a parent you tend not to burden your kids minds with adult thoughts and worries. Emigrating to New Zealand as a 16 year old was a tough task, as it would be for any teenager. It’s not until years later as a parent, that I now really understand what a daunting task it would have been for my parents. They packed everything up, sold what they needed to, and headed off to the relative unknown with three kids.…

#FreshStart Catchup (Week 6,7 & 8)
So, I’ll be honest, whilst the last couple of weeks have been super busy, it’s been kinda boring too. If you’ve been on the imnotsupermum facebook or instagram pages, you’ll see that I had a couple of dentists appointments. Blergh. I really really dislike going to the dentist. I’m not sure why. I’m sure they are lovely people 🙂 A few months ago, I cracked an existing filling from about 10-15 years ago, and rather than go fix it (remember I hate the dentist?), I opted to wait and see what happens. What happened was it got painful! Like worse than childbirth painful! And, I’ve had 2 kids – one…

#FreshStart Week 5 Update
If I told you #freshstart week 5 didn’t go as planned, I’d be lying 😝 To be honest, it was all in the plans to take a slight rest, eating wise anyway, because we were on holiday. For us, holidays are about rest, relaxation & experiences – this includes trying new foods 😄 So the beginning of the week started off well enough, despite it being that one week of the month you either love or hate to see (depending on your time of life lol). Eating habits were still solid, even if it took every ounce of willpower to not inhale that king size bar of chocolate 😝 …

#FreshStart Week 4 Update (aka Measurement Week)
Just over 2 months ago I made the, slightly insane, decision that for my own wellbeing I needed a #freshstart. If you have no idea what I’m talking about or haven’t been following the journey thus far, you can catchup up here 😄 Part of this #freshstart was to participate in the MisFitNZ Happier, Fitter, Healthier 12 Week Program run by Nikki. Whilst some of the changes I made were my own decision, e.g. the low carb WOE, Nikki’s programme gave me the ability to draw up a set goals & have a great bunch of people to work alongside to better ourselves, for whatever reason we chose to.…

#FreshStart Week 3 Update
Week 3 was better than week 2 – not great, but better 😝 Foodwise, it seemed alot easier. I didn’t see chocolate bars or muffins swimming before my eyes 😝, and even managed to stick to the low carb woe for 95% of my meals (which is better than I was aiming for). With my water intake, I’m finding it easier to get through my 3x 750ml bottles, even if it isn’t making the toilet stops any less frequent 😝 Still going strong on the 10k steps a day, even getting to 13k one day! Yay me! I’m also finding I’m not dead tired by the time I…
