imnotsupermum.com started off, almost a year ago, as a way for me to write about the things we did when the kids were young, ideally to prove to them that they did do things and go places as kids 😛 Mummy brain still hasn’t left me – even with my youngest being 2! Now imnotsupermum.com is also about the other things I love – books, tech, food etc – cos I figured out I’m not SuperMum and I can’t/shouldn’t have everything revolve around the kids forever, right? 🙂 This month I’m happy to say, after many starts, I’ve finally been blogging for a whole year!!! 🎂 To celebrate, I’ve asked…

Who is this child?! Freakin’ hormones…
Right. I get it. This parenting lark isn’t meant to be easy I know. But, seriously if anyone finds the manual for this 5 year old boy, please let me know! It’s not that it’s been an easy road so far. After almost 3 years TTC, approx 8 months pregnant (and having GDM), 4 days in hospital being induced (apparently due to a GDM meaning he’d be a big baby. Ha!), we were blessed with the cutest tiniest bundle of a boy. While it got worse for a while; terrible feeding, about 8 months of “COLIC” (which we eventually found was lactose intolerance & reflux), and a STEEP learning curve;…

Hot-Seat : Little Know It All + Giveaway
As with many mums these days, if I’m not running after the kids or doing household chores, I’m online. Whilst social media can be a great waster of time, it’s also a great way to find out more about what’s happening around me. Cos, let’s face it, these days if it’s not on social media it didn’t happen 😛 I’ve been lucky enough to meet many members from the talented mum & dads club. Some in real life, but most in the online world. In the Business Hot-Seat series, I hope to introduce you to some of these innovative and talented people. P.S If you’d like to be featured in…

Rosie’s World – A Farmtastic Educational Website
As I wrote in a previous post, “Why Screen Time is Good for Kids“, one of the great things about pairing kids and technology these days is education. There’s no shortage of knowledge out on the Internet, but like any other parent, I’m always wary of Internet safety. This week I was guided to a safe and fun NZ site (www.rosiesworld.co.nz) where kids could learn about dairying. So I decided to let my 5 year old loose on the site and he had a blast! I mean, we live in surburbia, so the chance of him even seeing a cow is highly impossible for the moment 😛 Rosie’s World introduces…

Why Screen Time is Good for Kids
With both DH and I working in the tech industry for many years, and being major tech geeks, it comes as no surprise to anyone that knows us that as a household we are neck deep in tech devices. I’ve lost count of how many computers, laptops, phones, tablets etc we have, and have had, in this house. Despite being born in the 80s, when tech was expensive and not readily available, we both found a love of tech and electronics very very early on in our lives. Fast forward to our 30s, and we now have kids. Whilst we have definitely passed on our love of tech to our…

Unique Father’s Day Gift Ideas
When it comes to dads, I think I’ve been extremely lucky in my life. Not only did I get the best Dad ever, who would move mountains for his 3 kids, but I managed to snag just as great a dad for my 2 kids 😛 Just don’t tell them both that 😛 hehe. As usual though when it gets to any gift giving event, like Father’s Day, they are two of the hardest people to buy for. Not because there’s a lack of things to buy for them, but because there’s sometimes way too much on the market that I would love to get for them 😛 Unfortunately, I…
